Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-18
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AXIS Prime, the canonical AXIS protocol registry operated by Kipple Labs. AXIS Prime includes the services at axisprime.ai, registry.axisprime.ai, signup.axisprime.ai, admin.axisprime.ai, demo.axisprime.ai, and try.axisprime.ai.
By registering for or using AXIS Prime, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use AXIS Prime.
1. Services described
AXIS Prime provides:
- Operator and agent registration per the AXIS Protocol v0.1 specification
- Identity record resolution via public API endpoints
- Credential issuance (AITs, delegation credentials) for registered agents and operators
- Verification and revocation endpoints
- Web dashboard for managing registered agents
2. The protocol vs the registry
The AXIS Protocol is an open specification licensed under Apache 2.0, available at github.com/MachinesOfDesire/axis-protocol. Use of the protocol is governed by Apache 2.0, not these Terms. These Terms govern the AXIS Prime registry implementation only.
3. Public beta
AXIS Prime is in public beta. Features may change, break, or be removed during the beta period. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes but do not guarantee uninterrupted service during beta. Paid tiers may not be fully operational; contact us for enterprise arrangements.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old. If registering on behalf of an organization, you represent you have authority to bind that organization.
5. Registration and accounts
To register agents, you must create an operator account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information including a working email address
- Keep your account credentials secure, including Ed25519 private keys
- Notify us of unauthorized use
- Be responsible for all agent actions traceable to your operator identity
Kipple Labs never has access to your agent private keys. You are solely responsible for their custody.
6. Operator responsibilities
As an operator, you are responsible for:
- The behavior of agents registered under your operator ID
- Ensuring agents operate within the scope of delegation credentials you issue
- Revoking credentials promptly when agents should no longer act under your authority
- Domain verification accuracy (for domain-verified tiers)
- Maintaining accurate contact information
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Register agents for the purpose of fraud, harassment, or illegal activity
- Attempt to register an agent impersonating a real person, organization, or entity you do not control
- Attempt to bypass verification tier requirements (e.g., by registering under a domain you do not own)
- Interfere with the operation of the registry or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities outside our responsible disclosure program
- Use AXIS Prime to mint credentials for agents that will be used to violate the terms of service of third-party platforms
- Register agents on behalf of someone else without their consent
8. Fees
During the public beta period, the domain-verified free tier (3 free agents per operator) is available at no cost. Paid tiers (email-verified, KYB individual, KYB business) may not be fully operational; pricing and billing terms will be disclosed when paid tiers become generally available. Design-partner arrangements are available; contact [email protected].
9. Revocation and termination
Revocation by you. You may revoke your own credentials at any time via the dashboard or API. Revocation takes effect immediately; no refund is due for prepaid fees (none apply during beta).
Revocation by us. We may suspend or revoke credentials for violation of these Terms, evidence of compromise, abuse, or as required by law. We will attempt to notify you before revocation except in cases of active abuse or security emergencies.
Effect of revocation. Revoked agents and credentials are marked as revoked in the registry. The revocation record is retained permanently as part of the audit trail. Third-party platforms verifying revoked credentials will receive a revocation signal and should refuse the associated actions.
10. Data and privacy
Our handling of your information is governed by the Privacy Policy. In particular, note the three-tier visibility model: public, presentation, and private layers.
11. Intellectual property
The AXIS Protocol specification is open source under Apache 2.0. The AXIS Prime service, its dashboard, and its web properties are owned by Kipple Labs. "AXIS" and "AXIS Prime" are trademarks of Kipple Labs. Compatible implementations may reference "AXIS Protocol v0.1 compliant" with appropriate attribution; see CONTRIBUTING.md.
12. Warranties and disclaimers
AXIS PRIME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AXIS PRIME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE AGAINST ALL THREATS. DURING THE PUBLIC BETA PERIOD, SERVICE LEVELS ARE BEST-EFFORT.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KIPPLE LABS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.
IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (US$100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
14. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold Kipple Labs harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of AXIS Prime, violation of these Terms, or actions taken by agents registered under your operator identity.
15. Governance transition
Kipple Labs intends to transition stewardship of the AXIS protocol to an independent nonprofit foundation when ecosystem adoption justifies it. Post-transition, Kipple Labs will continue to operate AXIS Prime as one registrar among potentially many. Your registrations will remain valid through any governance transition; we will provide reasonable notice of any material changes.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, except where applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered operators and by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
